About

Every year approximately 300 new international degree students begin their studies at the university and the university of applied sciences of Oulu. These international degree students study both Bachelor’s and Master’s level courses in the following fields:

  • Education

  • Business and Economics

  • Health Sciences

  • Engineering and Architecture

  • Natural Sciences

Yet, international degree students struggle to find work in Oulu after graduation. When an international degree student moves away from Finland after graduation, the lost education investment is approx. 50 000 euros.* 40% of international degree students leave Finland within the first year after their graduation, mainly due to current residence permit criteria, which places a lot of pressure on learning the language and finding employment. The best way for international students to integrate into society is by finding internships, work and career prospects.

The Solution?

We will organize an event which provides practical advice, tips, and information aimed at helping international students in their search for a career in Oulu upon graduation. In addition, we aim at connecting international students and alumni with potential employers.
